The Obama campaigns selective editing of a video Booker put on YouTube defending his comments. Booker's video seemingly doubled down on his remarks, while the Obama campaign's edit made it seem as if he was walking them back.

Tennessee: LOL poll of the day for Vanderbilt University. They have Romney leading Obama only 42-41 in TN among adults, although that lead expands to 47-42 among registered voters.
Veepstakes: According to Race 4 2012, Beth Myers, the head of Romney's VP search, has requested info from the following: Sens. Marco Rubio, Kelly Ayotte, and Rob Portman, Govs. Chris Christie, Bobby Jindal, and Tim Pawlenty, and Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers.
Restore Our Future: ROF's fundraising dropped in April, with the pro-Romney Super PAC raising $4.6 million and ending April with $8.2 million CoH.
Senate
Connecticut: For the second time in as many years, the delegates to the CT GOP convention have endorsed Linda McMahon for Senate over a longtime former Congressman. McMahon beat former Rep. Chris Shays 60-32. Shays received enough support to qualify for the primary ballot, however.
Nebraska: Crossroads GPS is up with a new ad attacking Bob Kerrey for supporting and benefiting from the Wall Street bailout.
Texas: Lt. Gov David Dewhurst has loaned his Senate campaign another $6 million, bringing his total to $8 million as he fights to avoid a run-off in the May 29 primary.
House
IL-13: Rodney Davis, the former Executive Director of the IL GOP and a former John Shimkus aide, has been chosen as the GOP nominee in the 13th district, after Rep. Tim Johnson abandoned his re-election campaign.
ND-AL: A Forum Communications Co. poll shows PSCs Brian Kalk (R) and Kevin Cramer (R) leading likely Democratic nominee Pam Gulleson 48-31 and 61-23, respectively. In the primary, Cramer leads the party-endorsed Kalk 38-25.
Other
MI-GOP: A big shake-up in the MI GOP this weekend, as two longtime party officials lost re-election. RNC Committeeman Saul Anuzis, a former MI GOP chair and two-time candidate for RNC Chair, lost re-election to state Rep. Dave Agema. Longtime Committeewoman State Rep. Holly Hughes also lost to former SoS Terri Lynn Land.
WI-Gov: The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel capped off a horrible week for Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett with an endorsement of Gov. Scott Walker and a strong argument against the recall.
VA-Gov: State Sen. Chap Peterson (D) has announced that he will not run for Governor in 2013. Its looking like the Democratic primary will be a coronation for Sen. Mark Warner or, if Warner doesn't run, former DNC Chair Terry McAuliffe.
OH-Gov: Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald is considering a run for Governor in 2014. Rep. Tim Ryan is considered a much more likely prospect. |
